Plastic Case Circuit Breaker Maintenance Method

The main contacts of the low-voltage circuit breaker are manually operated or electrically powered on. When the main contact is closed, the free-tripping mechanism locks the main contact in the closing position.

The coil of the overcurrent tripping device and the thermal release device are connected in series with the main circuit, and the coil and the power supply are in parallel with the undervoltage tripping device.

When the circuit is short-circuit or serious overload, the armature of the overcurrent tripping device is sucked in, so that the free tripping mechanism moves, and the main contact disconnects the main circuit.

When the circuit is overloaded, the heat-release heat element heats up the bimetal sheet, pushing the free-tripping mechanism, and the main contact disconnects the main circuit.

When the circuit is under voltage, the armature of the under-voltage release is released, and the free tripping mechanism moves, and the main contact disconnects the main circuit.

When the shunt tripping button is pressed, the armature of the shunt tripping device is sucked in, so that the free tripping mechanism moves, and the main contact disconnects the main circuit.

Classification Low-voltage circuit breakers are classified according to the extinction medium, using air as an arc-extinguishing medium circuit breaker, known as the air circuit breaker (air switch), the use of inert gas as an arc-extinguishing medium circuit breaker, called an inert gas circuit breaker (inert gas switch), the use of oil as a circuit breaker, called oil circuit breaker (oil switch).
